Remote Classes & Proctored Exam
The ServSafe® Manager Class & Exam (Remote) is a live, instructor-led class on Microsoft Teams. Classes run about 6 hours with breaks and are led by ServSafe® Certified Instructors and Registered Proctors who make compliance practical and easy to understand.
Your enrollment includes At the Pass (digital study guide + diagnostic exam + prep tools) and the ServSafe® Manager Certification exam proctored online through ProctorU.
Access our pre-class study portal, At the Pass — your hub for the digital study guide, diagnostic exam, and prep tools.
The ServSafe Manager Certification exam is completed online through ProctorU. You’ll receive your exam code and scheduling instructions before class.
You’ll need a 70% or higher to pass the ServSafe Manager Exam. That means getting at least 60 out of 80 scored questions correct. The exam includes 90 total questions, but 10 are unscored pilot questions used only for research—so your grade is based on the other 80.
Yes — our ServSafe Food Protection Manager certification class + exam is nationally accredited and accepted in most state, local, tribal, and municipal jurisdictions. It is administered by a registered instructor and follows the required format (e.g., full-day, 8-hour class).
Important: requirements vary by region. Always double-check with your state or local health department or regulatory agency to confirm any special requirements (such as additional training, exam retakes, or local language content).
For remote classes, your exam is proctored by Meazure Learning (ProctorU). You’ll schedule your exam in advance, complete a quick system check, and take it online with a live proctor using your webcam and microphone.
You’ll receive detailed setup and login instructions after enrollment, including how to schedule and test your system. On exam day, you’ll show a valid photo ID, complete a brief room scan, and follow the proctor’s instructions to begin. For more step-by-step guidance, visit our Support Center anytime.
Your ServSafe Manager Certification is valid for five years. Some states or employers may require renewal sooner, so always confirm local requirements.
For remote / online proctored exams, results are available almost immediately after the proctor submits your exam for grading.
If you pass, you can print or download your certificate right away from your ServSafe account. ServSafe no longer automatically mails paper certificates; you must download the e-certificate from your account (or pay a fee if you want a mailed copy).
If you’re enrolled in a remote class, contact us at least 24 hours before the class starts, and we’ll gladly move your registration to another available date and time.
All sales are final, and we do not offer refunds once registration is complete.
