Nebraska does not require a statewide food handler card. Food handler training is generally voluntary at the state level, and requirements are set by local health departments where applicable.

Food handler training is mandatory only in Lincoln/Lancaster County. Outside of that jurisdiction, food establishments may choose to use nationally accredited food handler programs or internal training policies where permitted by local health authorities.
