Workforce Training Program
Foundations is a structured, sponsor-funded workforce training program for criminal-justice-impacted individuals preparing for employment in food service and hospitality. The program combines employer-recognized certifications, professional readiness training, and practical support to help participants pursue work with preparation, structure, and credibility.
Many capable people face barriers after justice involvement that have nothing to do with ability or work ethic — access to training, technology, scheduling flexibility, and support. Foundations exists to remove those barriers while maintaining clear expectations and accountability.
What Foundations Accomplishes:

Foundations is built around the reality that people are balancing work, family, appointments, and reentry responsibilities. The program combines structured instruction with flexibility, so learners can stay on track without being set up to fail. Training is supported by clear expectations, staff oversight, defined milestones, and access to required technology — including a computer — so lack of equipment does not prevent participation or continued job readiness after completion.
How the Program Works:

Foundations recognizes that training alone is often not enough to ensure completion or early job stability. The program includes one year of structured support services designed to reduce external pressures that commonly interfere with learning and employment. These supports are built into the program as stability safeguards — not incentives — to help participants stay engaged, complete training, and retain momentum as they transition into the workforce.
