Arizona Title 4 Alcohol Server & Seller Training

In Arizona, the training commonly known as “Title 4” is managed by the Arizona Department of Liquor Licenses and Control (AZ DLLC). While state law does not require every server to hold a certificate, the owners, agents, and managers of licensed establishments must complete a state-approved “Management” course.

The “Basic” course (for servers and front-line staff) is voluntary but highly recommended, and many employers or insurers expect it as part of risk-management strategy.

Key Program Facts

  • Program Type: Voluntary for servers; mandatory for owners/agents/managers.
  • Validity: Certificates generally valid for 3 years from date of completion.
  • Employer Requirements: Some employers may require the Basic course for staff, even though state law doesn’t require it for everyone.
