Nebraska Responsible Beverage Server/Seller Training
In Nebraska, alcohol server/seller training is voluntary statewide unless mandated by a local
jurisdiction. Training is strongly encouraged for servers, sellers and managers. The Nebraska Liquor Control
Commission (NLCC) does not mandate universal certification, but some cities/counties (e.g., Lincoln, Kearney,
Ogallala, North Platte) require specific training or permits.
Certificates from approved providers are generally valid for 3 years. Certivance offers
Nebraska-aligned training through our CMS.
Steps to Be Compliant in Nebraska:
-
Check local jurisdiction and employer requirements:
Even though the state does not mandate training, your city/county or employer may have requirements.
-
Enroll in an approved training course:
Select a provider approved for Nebraska server/seller training, covering ID checks, intoxication, Nebraska laws and safe service practices.
-
Obtain your certificate and retain records:
After you complete training and pass the exam, save/print your certificate and maintain it for employer or licensing records.
-
Track certificate validity and renew as required:
Certificates are typically valid for three years. Monitor renewal timing and any local refresh requirements.
